Candan Erim

Ten years of professional experience in various architecture offices, and large-scale construction projects with skills in computational design in architecture, conceptual design, application, visualization, and a strong belief in the importance of the multidisciplinary approach and teamwork in design projects.

After working for around three years in Kuwait as a design coordinator of the façade interface and fixed bridge design packages in the Kuwait New Airport Terminal II Project, she founded Candan Erim Architecture Office in 2022 in Aydın. Currently, living in Izmir, offers architectural design & implementation services and creates projects in both İzmir and Aydın.

She received her Master's in Architectural Design Computing from Istanbul Technical University in 2017. She is fascinated by the idea of generating new spatial experiences for people based on their behavioral patterns and spaces that can interact with residents like living organisms and other buildings in an urban settlement to respond to users’ needs efficiently and effectively.

In the second half of her post-graduation, she conducted research on interactive installations and spaces at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands during the 2015-2016 academic year. Her master thesis was on public interactive displays and surfaces to enhance the waiting experience at the airports, and she carried out experiments on the relationship between interactive media environments and user experience at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Istanbul.

Candan is in love with street photography and uses it to reveal and spark emotions in urban scenes where people freely interact with their surroundings often unnoticed.
